Whisky Falls is a Scottish burlesque performer residing in Melbourne, Australia. Whisky joined the burlesque scene back in 2012, when she was challenged to put on an hour long burlesque show at the Piccadilly Theatre in London, UK.
“At the time, my friends and I were still auditioning in the dance and musical theatre scene after completing our vocational training in 2008. The theatre scene was particularly quiet at the time, and since we were all interested in style and design of eras gone by, we began looking into burlesque. The show happened, and with an audience full of colleagues and peers who told me I must keep going, I did!”
.
.
Whisky started by incorporating her musical theatre background into every act… whether it was a sing ‘n’ fling, a fan dance en pointe, or striptease full of splits and kicks, it was all there. Over the years, some of these elements remain, but her repertoire is now more of a medley of work, ranging from classic bump ‘n’ grind through to a peacock striptease inspired by her contemporary dance training.
“The creative freedom I gain from burlesque has certainly kept me going throughout the years, and has helped me evolve as an artist. Like most performers, I started with looking at classic figure heads and fashions of the 1940/1950s. But as time has gone on, I realised I don’t have to pigeon hole myself into any particular era or style.”

The self branded ‘alternative showgirl’ Whisky is neither a neo performer or a classic pin-up, she is exploring all that is in between. Whisky has multiple personalities, sometimes comedic, sometimes serious… and she believes that is where the fun is!
“My advice for all people is to explore! Travel, do research, learn about the goddesses of burlesque who paved the way, support each other, be kind to one another, be a diva onstage, and a helper offstage! Challenge yourself, and question yourself. Never be content with the way it is… burlesque is the gift that keeps on giving (literally!)
“Moving to the other side of the world was made way easier by the burlesque community in Australia. They are fierce, strong, soft and welcoming. They welcomed me with wide open arms and have given me great opportunities already- I have even managed to set up my own monthly show and its only been 6 months!”
